Ed Marvin, Immediate Past President

Ed Marvin grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated Texas A&M in 2000 with a degree in biomedical engineering and St. Mary’s Law School in 2006. While at St. Mary’s he served on the Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and was awarded the inaugural Martin D. Beirne Editors’ Excellence award for the top law journal member. He also studied abroad in the St. Mary’s Institute on World Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria, was in the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity, and President of St. Mary’s Tech & IP Association.

Ed practices intellectual property law at Gunn, Lee & Cave, P.C., the largest intellectual property law firm in San Antonio. He is a registered patent attorney who prosecutes patent applications in a diverse array of technologies. Additionally, he counsels clients in trademark, copyright, and other types of intellectual property protection. Ed also litigates intellectual property disputes primarily in federal court.

Ed and his wife, Sally, live in a historic home they restored. They have a daughter named Elly and a son named Edward ("EJ") who, if things go right, will be Fightin’ Texas Aggies Class of 2036 and 2041, respectively. Ed enjoys snow skiing, fishing, golfing, watching Aggie football, and playing baseball in his free time . . . which seems to be less and less these days.

TABA IS A CHARTERED CONSTITUENT NETWORK OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS OF TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY.
