    The TABA has arranged for two free parking locations on campus for the 15th Annual Conference of the Texas Aggie Bar Association on 3/1/2014. Attendees may park in surface Lot 62, between the West Side of Kyle Field and Wellborne Road, or attendees may park in the Association of Former Students' parking lot at The Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center (enter the lot from George Bush Drive).

    Attendees may also park in Koldus Parking Garage at their own expense.

    The Texas Aggie Bar Association is proud to announce that Fidel Rodriguez, Jr. '73 has been named the 2014 Aggie Lawyer of the Year.

     

    Mr. Rodriguez is a  resident of San Antonio and a 1973 graduate of Texas A&M University.  After graduating from Texas A&M, Mr. Rodriguez served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a captain in 1977.  He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio and he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1980.  He is the primary shareholder in The Law Office of Fidel Rodriguez, Jr.    

     

    While a student at Texas A&M, Mr. Rodriguez majored in civil engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.  He was a member of the Ross Volunteer Company and he was selected to be the commander of the First Wing during his senior year.

     

    Mr. Rodriguez has been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2001.  He is an active member of the San Antonio Bar Association and served as the organization's president in 1994-1995.  He served as a board member of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization from 1998-2004.

     

    He has been an active supporter of the Mount Sacred Heart School, serving as president of the Parent/Teacher council.  He is also a member of the board of directors of the San Antonio Chapter of the 100 Club, an organization that supports the families of fallen police officers.

     

    He is married to Anabel and they have three children, Fidel III, Carlos, and Analisa.  Please join us in congratulating Mr. Rodriguez on his selection as the 2014 Aggie Lawyer of the Year!

     

    The Texas Aggie Bar Association congratulates all of the nominees and finalists for this award.  You make us all proud to be Aggie lawyers.

    Texas A&M University School of Law has been named a 2013 “Smart Moves” award winner by the Fort Worth Business Press.

    The award recognizes 10 local businesses for success, growth and smart moves over the past year.

    Each year the TABA funds scholarships to assist first-year Aggie law students with law school expenses.  

    You are eligible for this scholarship if you meet the following criteria: either (1) you are a student or Former Student that has completed at least 40 undergraduate hours at Texas A&M University and intend to begin law school in the Fall of 2014, or (2) you have been accepted to Texas A&M University School of Law and will begin enrollment at Texas A&M University School of Law in the Fall of 2014. 

    Scholarship applications must be received no later than 1/15/2014, at 4 p.m., and will only be accepted by e-mail to mailto:TABAscholarship@gmail.com.

    The Texas Aggie Bar Association is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Aggie Lawyer of the Year.  To nominate an Aggie lawyer, please submit an application on or before December 31, 2013.  Nomination forms are available here:  2014 Nomination Form.pdf

    The ALOY Committee will consider the nominee’s achievements over the course of their legal career as an Aggie lawyer (i.e., evaluation not limited to events that have taken place during the last year). Criteria considered includes professional accomplishments, community involvement, a legal practice that embodies the ideals of Texas A&M University, etc. 

    TABA Board members can neither nominate nor be a nominee for Aggie Lawyer of the Year.
